Petr Mrazek is considered an RFA this summer, but the all-knowing @CapFriendly points out that he’ll require a qualifying offer at his current salary: $4.15M.

Otherwise, Mrazek hits the open market July 1.

He has struggled the past couple of years. But ever since Mrazek took Holland to arbitration, and Holland caved in at the last minute and gave him a 2 year deal, he has really bad mouthed Mrazek through his press puppets, most notably Helene St. James.

Howard could give up 8 goals and would never be blamed for the loss. Mrazek would get a shutout and barely get any credit. Personally, I'd like to see Mrazek become a star and shove it up Holland's a$$.

I'm not saying Mrazek is blameless. He has had some attitude issues in the past but he's been a pro this season. A goalie is what his record says he is. Mrazek has been inconsistent. I still believe the talent is there. I think Philly is a great place for him.

Detroit's blue line is garbage so I think that Mrazek has suffered because of it.

I hope he plays well and the Flyers keep him until Hart is ready. He's an emotional goalie and I think he'll feed off the Flyers fans passion. I think it's a great move for the Flyers. ☺

DET guaranteed no less than a 4th round for Mrazek. If PHI makes playoffs and Mrazek wins 5 games for PHI in reg season, 4th becomes a 3rd. If PHI advances to CF, and Mrazek wins six playoff games, the 3rd becomes a 2nd. If PHI re-signs him next season, DET gets PHI 3rd in 19.

I'll be cheering for the Flyers in the playoffs. 😉

I've just always believed we haven't seen his best yet. The Wings gave up on him a long time ago. I think he plays with a chip on his shoulder and resurrects his career. But if he falls apart and $hits the bed, I can't say I'll be shocked.

I remember a few years ago thinking he was the next big thing when Howard got hurt and he played a ton and was really good, and then never really replicated it, and then the wheels fell off last year, but I can see that happening on a team that he gets no support from and on a bad team kind of snowballing on him.

I agree. I won't be shocked if he's a star or if he crashes. Reminds a bit of halak. Can be incredible. And can also suck. I think he's s starter in the nhl though
